The company that picks up your recycling in Bruce County has some tips for ensuring your cardboard gets picked up.
Bruce Area Solid Waste Recycling says in a post to social media, “There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding cardboard collection in your recycling. Please be patient, this is a new system and we do not have compaction on our trucks.”
They say to do the following:
– Flatten all of your boxes
– Cut down all pieces over 2’x2’
– Do not fold boxes, the entire pile will be left behind
– Drivers do not have time to sort out small pieces
– Bundling could help by keeping boxes from blowing away
– You can place boxes in clear plastic bags, blue boxes or other containers
– Do not put cardboard in bins with with wheels
