The Owen Sound Attack have made a trade.
The team announced Tuesday evening defenceman Mason Roy has been moved to the Brampton Steelheads in exchange for a pair of OHL Priority Selection picks.
The draft picks Owen Sound is acquiring are Sarnia’s fifth round selection in 2026, and Brampton’s 10th-rounder in 2027.
Roy, 17, is playing in his first full season in the Ontario Hockey League after being selected by the Attack in the second round, 42nd overall, in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection.
The Campbellville native was pointless, and had a -6 rating in 17 games for the Attack during the 2025-26 season.
He appeared in five games as an alternate player during the 2024-25 campaign, but spent the bulk of the season with the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Burlington Cougars.
More moves could be coming this week for the Attack, ahead of the league’s trade deadline on Friday at noon. The cutoff to move overage players is a day prior, on Thursday.
