A heads up for those who plan to travel the ice of Georgian Bay this week.
The Canadian Coast Guard will be conducting ice breaking operations to support commercial shipping in Midland Harbour.
The Coast Guard Ship Vincent Massey is expected to arrive midweek and will be breaking ice from Methodist Point into the harbour, as well as areas around Giants Tomb and Beausoleil Island.
The OPP and the coast guard advise people to stay clear during and after ice breaking operations as the ice surface will become unstable.
