The man accused of manslaughter in the 2023 death of Owen Sound Curry House restaurant Owner Sharif Rahman made a virtual appearance in bail court this morning.
Robert Evans Junior he was remanded back into custody and will next appear in court January 8th.
Rahman was assaulted outside his restaurant The Curry House on 2nd Avenue East in downtown Owen Sound on Aug. 17, 2023 and died one week later — on Aug. 24, 2023 — from injuries he suffered. He was 44-years-old, and left behind a wife and a young daughter.
Robert Evans is charged with manslaughter in relation to Rahman’s death. And two other men, Robert Busby Evans and Barry Evans, are charged with accessory after the fact.
They were extradited from the UK to Canada earlier this month.
