Student math scores are up across most demographics in Huron and Perth counties.
Results from the latest Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) for Huron and Perth county schools show an increase in math scores for Grade 3, 6, 9 public school students, along with Grade 3 and 6 Catholic school students.
The only math decline in the two-county region was in Catholic ninth graders, which saw the number of students meeting the provincial standard fall from 55 per cent in 2024 to 52 per cent in 2025.
Public third and sixth graders saw improvements across reading, writing, and mathematics.
Catholic third graders saw slight declines in reading, from 78 per cent last year, to 76 per cent this year.
Literacy test results rose in Huron-Perth public schools (80 per cent to 81 per cent, year over year), while Catholic schools declined slightly (84 per cent, to 81 per cent).
