South Bruce OPP say a Walkerton man is facing a slew of charges after going over 150 kilometres an hour in an 80 zone.
On Nov. 29 around 8:07 p.m., police say an officer was conducting radar enforcement along Highway 9 in Brockton when they saw a fast moving vehicle.
After the vehicle was stopped, the officer spoke with the driver, who police say detected signs of alcohol consumption.
OPP say the driver refused the lawful demand to provide a breath sample and resisted arrest before being taken into custody.
Police say a search of the vehicle revealed a small quantity of suspected cocaine.
As a result, the 44-year-old accused was charged with stunt driving, failing or refusing to comply with a demand, resisting a peace officer, possession of a substance, driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available, and driving a vehicle with an open container of liquor.
The man’s vehicle was impounded for 14 day and had their licence suspended for 90 days.
He is set to appear in court in Walkerton next month.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
