
Services are planned to remember the three teens who died in a collision in West Grey last week.
Their names have now been widely released, and fundraisers are being held to support their families and the grieving community.
17 year old Damon Davis, 16 year old Haley Keffer and 16 year old Tyson Varley died on Tuesday November 11th in a single vehicle collision in the area of Allan Park Road between Hanover and Durham. A fourth teen was airlifted to a London hospital. All went to John Diefenbaker Senior School in Hanover.
17 year old Damon Davis is described as having a knack for fixing things, enjoying video games and hanging out with this friends and girlfriend. He was in the application process to be an Automotive Service Technician. He also volunteered at the Hanover Care Centre.
A public visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Tuesday, November 18th, 2025 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
His obituary says a private family Funeral Service will be held, recorded, and made available for the public to view in the following days. Memorial donations to the London Children’s Hospital would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Tyson Varley’s obituary describes him as, “Well known for his love of cars and tinkering with them,” adding, “He had a passion for lawnmowers, 4-wheeling and mud. He was working hard on his dream of becoming a small engine mechanic. Last month, for his 16th birthday, he requested a pig roast with lawnmower races. He will always be remembered for these.”
A celebration of life will be held at the Egremont Optimist Club, Holstein on Sunday, November 23 from 11a.m. – 3 p.m. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to a GoFundMe.
A time of remembrance, honouring 16 year old Haley’s Keffer’s life will be held at the Elmwood Community Centre on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 1 p.m., with a casual celebration of her life to follow until 5 p.m.
Her obituary says “Haley loved to wear mismatched socks, so please mix it up, wear casual clothing and join us, as we honour her life.” A GoFundMe has been created to assist her family.
Communities in Grey Bruce lowered their flags to half mast last week, and a gathering was held Friday at Grace United Church in Hanover to honour the teens.
