Anthony Figliomeni was given a fighting major and game misconduct being an aggressor, after dropping the gloves and firing punches at Attack defenceman Lenny Greenberg along the board. Greenberg didn’t engage. That came at 11:17 of the second.
The Attack were already up 1-0 at that point, and then Rogers scored to make it 2-0. Then at 14:29 of the second period Charlie Hilton was given a five-minute major and match penalty for spearing. That gave Owen Sound a two-man advantage for 1:48.
Mbuyi would pot his second of the game. And then with 2:07 left in the second, it was Mbuyi completing the hat trick – scoring Owen Sound’s fourth power play goal of the second period to make it 4-0.
Trenten Bennett made 28 saves in the win, while Jaden Cholette stopped 29 taking the loss. The Attack outshot the Generals 34-31 while going 4 for 11 on the power play; Oshawa finished 0 for 7.
