A Huron County resident is one of two people facing weapons charges, after a traffic stop in Mitchell.
OPP say a vehicle was stopped Monday along St. George Street, and officers learned the driver was prohibited from driving.
A search of the car turned up two firearms, one of which was loaded, along with ammunition, and drugs suspected to be cocaine and methamphetamine.
A 32 year old from Huron East has been charged with:
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (Two Counts)
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (Two Counts)
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Occupant of a Motor vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm (Two Counts)
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Failure to Comply with Release Order
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Two Counts)
A 35 year old from West Perth has been charged with:
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (Two Counts)
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (Two Counts)
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
- Occupant of a Motor vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm (Two Counts)
- Operation While Prohibited (Two Counts)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Two Counts)
