Jacob Cloutier scored a natural hat trick in the third period, as the Saginaw Spirit rallied from 2-1 down to defeat the Owen Sound Attack 4-2 in Ontario Hockey League action Saturday night at Dow Event Center.
Owen Sound (9-4-0-1) dropped its third in a row. While Saginaw (4-4-3-2) made it back-t0-back wins.
Levi Harper also scored for the Spirit, giving them a 1-0 lead just over five minutes into the second.
Nick Sykora and Tristan Delisle had the goals for the Attack. They came 41 seconds apart late in the second, giving Owen Sound a 2-1 lead heading into the third.
The Attack were 6-0 this season when leading after two, but couldn’t hang on to this one.
Stepan Shurygin made 40 saves in the win, while Trenten Bennett stopped 28 taking the loss. The Attack outshot the Spirit 42-31 while going 0 for 2 on the power play; Saginaw was 0 for 3.
The Attack close out their three-game West Division road trip Sunday afternoon in Flint. Game time is 4 p.m between the Attack and Firebirds.
