Grey Highlands is going to consider applying for provincial funding to conduct repairs to Highway 10 in Markdale.
This comes after in August when the Ministry of Transportation launched its next intake of the Connecting Links Program.
The program provides 90 per cent of the funding needed for municipalities to construct or repair roads and bridges on connecting links, up to a max of $5 million.
The deadline for this intake period is Nov. 13 and Grey Highlands Manager of Infrastructure Mason Bellamy says council will need to support the application before it can be submitted.
If the application is successful, Bellamy says the municipality will be able to issue a contract for the work next spring and construction will follow next fall.
The over $6.9 million project includes road work, storm water management, and traffic signals.
Council will consider approving the application to receive funding for the project during its meeting on Wednesday.
