Bruce Power is making a $150,000 donation in support of next year’s International Plowing Match (IMP) and Rural Expo.
The popular event is set to come to Bruce County for Sept. 22-26, 2026, on 800 acres west of Walkerton.
The event will include a plowing competition, parades, concerts, demonstrations, vendors, exhibitors, special events, and an RV campground in anticipation of about 200,000 people expected to attend the five-day event.
This is the 50th anniversary of Bruce County holding the event, after it first came to the region 1976.
Chair of the 2026 IPM Gord Lang says the donation from Bruce Power will help in making the event a success, which aims to disperse the net profits throughout the county.
“This is a symbolic message from a significant local business that is investing in agriculture, rural living and our community,” says Lang.
Bruce Power Director of Community and External Affairs Maggie Tieman adds, “It’s really exciting when we get to host this major agricultural and rural celebration right here in Bruce County. We are really proud to support community events like this that showcase our region and bring economic activity to local businesses.”
