Provincial Police say one person has died in a collision north of Wiarton.
Emergency services were called to Highway 6 and Mar Sideroad around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, after a passenger vehicle and a water truck collided.
Earlier Thursday afternoon, OPP said, “The collision is involving a (water truck), which is fully engulfed.”
The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 90-year-old from Lion’s Head was pronounced dead.
OPP did not say if anyone else was injured.
Highway 6 was closed for several hours between Bruce Road 9 and Howdenvale Road for the collision investigation, but has since reopened.
*Editor’s note: This story was updated to correct previous information provided by the OPP that was not accurate. Police initially reported the vehicle involved was a propane truck, and later confirmed the vehicle involved that was engulfed in flames is a water truck.
