Several immigrants and newcomers to Huron County were recognized for their impact to the region.
The “I Am Huron” awards recognize immigrants and newcomers to Canada who are making a difference in their communities.
Seven residents were recognized this year in Goderich, Exeter, Clinton, and Wingham, and included business owners, and educators.
The I Am Huron campaign was started in 2025 with guidance from the London Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership and their I Am London campaign.
A survey from the Huron Perth Immigration Partnership found that when someone first moves to Goderich and to Huron-Perth, they can find the experience daunting because of a lack of resources, including housing.
