On September 10, Muskoka women – 63 permanent and seasonal residents – gathered at North Granite Ridge Golf Club to Swing for Your Sisters and raise funds for YWCA programs and outreach services for local women.
“The day was uplifting, joyful – a true celebration of women supporting women,” said YWCA Muskoka Executive Director, Hannah Lin. “We are thankful to all the golfers, event sponsors, volunteers, silent auction contributors and other donors who contributed to make our first golf tournament a success.”
The event raised a total of $27,000 and Lin says these funds are very important to the local charity. “YWCA Muskoka delivers over 16 programs to girls, boys, women, and community members living on low income through the region. The organization operates without ongoing core government funding and needs to fundraise close to $1M every year for programs and services.”
Swing for Your Sisters will run again next fall. In the meantime, YWCA Muskoka is turning its attention to its 20th Women of Distinction Awards Gala in April 2026.
