The 9th Annual Handbags for Hospice event has raised over $248,000 for Huron Shores Hospice, setting a new record.
The event Friday evening invited guests to take part in a live auction, golden ticket draw, wine wall, and purse hall, were attendees could bid on various items.
Hospice Executive Director Cathy Herbert opened the event thanking all those who make hospice care possible.
“Handbags for Hospice is more than a fundraiser – it’s a celebration of kindness and community,” says Herbert. “The generosity shown last night ensures that we can continue to provide comfort, dignity, and compassion at no cost to those we serve. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this possible.”
The evening also included speeches to remind guests of the importance of hospice care.
The funds raised will go to support the hospice in providing a home-like setting for individuals and families to receive end-of-life care.
