The Township of Georgian Bluffs is appointing former Coun. Ryan Thompson as its CAO.
Thompson will be coming to the role with over 25 years experience in the public-sector, including leadership positions in child and family services and over two decades as a Georgian Bluffs councillor.
He had stepped away from his council seat earlier this year to participate in the CAO recruitment process and officially resigned on Sept. 5.
Council will be reviewing options for filling the vacancy.
The Wiarton native had also recently served as Director of Service at Bruce Grey Child and Family Services.
Mayor Sue Carleton says, “Ryan’s extensive experience, collaborative approach, and deep roots in our community make him well-suited to lead our organization.”
Thompson adds, “I am excited to bring my experience and passion for public service to the Township of Georgian Bluffs. I look forward to working with council, staff, and the community to support a strong, sustainable and thriving future.”
Thompson will assume the role effective Oct. 6.
