South Bruce OPP say no one was injured in a condo fire in Lucknow.
Police say this morning around 8:42 a.m., South Bruce OPP and the Lucknow Fire Department responded to the blaze at 550 Montgomery Lane.
When emergency services arrived on the scene, Fire Chief Jeff Bradley says fire crews initiated a swift and coordinated response, containing the fire and preventing it from spreading.
About 50 residents were temporarily displaced and a shelter was established where the township provided support services.
Bradley says by 1 p.m., the building was deemed safe for residents to return.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to community safety, we encourage all residents to regularly install, test, and replace smoke alarms. These simple actions save lives,” says Bradley in a release.
Police say the fire is not being treated as suspicious and no roads are closed.
