The City of Owen Sound will be temporarily closing the Leaf and Yard Waste Facility for a few days this week.
The city says that the facility, located at 2450 28th Avenue East, will be closed between Wednesday, August 27th to Friday August 29th to allow for wood grinding.
The facility is expected to resume operations in time for the Labour Day weekend, with operating hours planned from 8:30 am until 8 pm from Saturday, August 30th until Monday, September 1st.
The Leaf and Yard Waste facility will also see a brief closure on September 2nd and 3rd for further wood grinding.
The grinding is carried out each year by a third-party contractor, and the equipment used does not allow for safe public access while it is in use.
The City of Owen Sound also says that changes to these hours may happen due to contractor requirements and weather.
