The big tent is up at the Georgian Shores Marina ahead of the 37th annual McDonald’s Owen Sound Salmon Spectacular this weekend.
Event Co-Chair Chris Geberdt says the tent set up went well this morning.
“We had 110 people show up, the most we have ever had,” says Geberdt. “This is just general public, Bruce Peninsula, and a lot of other volunteers that heard the advertisement.”
He says this year’s tent will be 270 feet long, 25 feet longer than usual.
“It’s a brand new tent, so it should be impressive once its up,” says Geberdt.
Geberdt encourages all to come out to the event as he says it is going to be one of the best derbies yet.
The annual 10-day fishing event gets underway this Friday and runs until Aug. 31.
