For the third consecutive year, Bruce Power is offering scholarships to students of Early Childhood Education Programs.
The company says that the funding is to help alleviate a shortage of childcare professionals in Bruce County.
So far, the power company has awarded 34 of their Early Childhood Education scholarships to help offset the costs of certification.
To be eligible for the Bruce Power Early Childhood Education Scholarship, you must be registered in a program, or advanced ECE program.
Applicants have until September 30th to apply. This year’s scholarships will be awarded by October 31st.
To be eligible for the Bruce Power Early Childhood Education Scholarship, applicants must:
• Be registered as a student in the Early Childhood Education program or Advanced ECE program.
• Submit a short essay (250 words) to BNPDDiversityEquityandInclusion@brucepower.com indicating why they want to be a Registered ECE and work in Bruce County.
Students with a related diploma, degree, or work experience can apply to fast-track their course completion. Students can also apply to be exempt from course placement requirements if they are currently working in a licensed childcare program or have experience that meets the program’s placement and learning goals.
