Orillia’s landfill will reopen today.
However, there will be new restrictions in place, including the number of people allowed on the site, how people can use it and the types of material that can be dropped off, in addition to the hours of operation.
Officials say, “Use of the landfill during the emergency should be limited” and “residents should only come to the waste diversion site if absolutely necessary.”
The landfill will be open Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and closed on weekends and statutory holidays.
Officials are also warning residents that there may be significant wait times.
