Provincial Police say one person has died after drowning in Lake Huron.
Emergency services were called to a report of a capsized canoe in the water near Howdenvale around 6 p.m. Monday evening.
Grey Bruce OPP say three people were canoeing when their vessel overturned. Two of them managed to swim back to shore safely, but a 32-year-old man did not immediately resurface.
Police say bystanders were able to recover the man from the water and attempted CPR, but it was not successful.
“Upon the arrival of emergency responders, he was then transported to hospital by EMS, where he was pronounced deceased,” Grey Bruce OPP say in a media release.
