There are opportunities for Grey Bruce residents to safely dispose of hazardous waste this weekend.
Household hazardous waste collection events are being held in Owen Sound and in Kincardine on Saturday, when you can drop off old paints, motor oil and other waste materials.
Residents of several Grey County municipalities — Owen Sound, Chatsworth, Meaford, Georgian Bluffs and Grey Highlands — can attend the Owen Sound public works building at 1900 20th Street East between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. July 12 to get rid of their household hazardous waste.
While Bruce County residents will be able to go to the Kincardine Public Works Yard at 140 Valentine Avenue between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday.
Materials such as paints and stains, propane tanks, used oil, fluorescent lights, and pool chemicals are being accepted.
Medical waste, explosives and ammunition, as well as any waste generated by farms, industrial, commercial and institutional sources will not be accepted at these household hazardous waste events.
