Chatsworth has hired a new chief administrative officer.
The township announced the appointment of Rachel Anstett to the CAO/clerk role, effective July 14.
Having grown up in Bruce County and spent the majority of her career in Huron County, Anstett brings both deep-rooted local ties and a wealth of professional experience. Most recently, she served as municipal clerk for Central Huron, where she earned a reputation for strong leadership, effective public engagement, and expertise in municipal governance, planning, and development.
“I am honoured to have been afforded this opportunity and look forward to working collaboratively with the Council and staff of the Township of Chatsworth,” Anstett says in a prepared statement. “It is a privilege to serve, and I am committed to contributing meaningfully to the continued growth and well-being of the community.”
Chatsworth Mayor Scott Mackey expressed confidence in Anstett’s appointment, citing her leadership qualities and community-focused approach.
“Council is looking forward to working with Rachel, who has strong personal skills and attributes that will be a welcome addition to our senior management team and council,” Mackey says.
Anstett succeeds long-serving CAO/clerk Patty Sinnamon, who will retire on June 27 after nine years with the township.
“On behalf of council, I would also like to extend my thanks and appreciation for Patty’s leadership and dedication to Chatsworth,” Mackey says. “Her efforts have strengthened the Township’s focus on community building and strategic planning, from advancing subdivision proposals to supporting local businesses through a Community Improvement Plan, and modernizing our Comprehensive Zoning By-law. We wish her the very best in her much-deserved retirement.”
