The Maitland Valley Conservation Authority is hoping to continue fighting invasive species as they plan for 2025.
The MVCA made a presentation to Huron County Council on Wednesday.
Agricultural Stewardship Supervisor Ben Van Dieten shared that the conservation authority is continuing their work to fight invasive phragmites.
They will also be working on erosion control, forest management plans, and cover crop incentives.
In 2024, the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority was able to approve 275 project applications that mainly focused on cover crop projects, tree planting initiatives, and erosion control projects.
The MVCA launched in 2004, with its first project being completed in 2005. 2025 marks its 21st year as an organization.
