The Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB) is looking for community input for its 2025-2026 budget.
Communications Officer Jamie Pettit says the BWDSB launched a survey this week to help identify priorities and where the board should allocate funding for the next school year.
“We are now in the stage of public consultation, something that we do every year as part of our budget planning process,” says Pettit.
The short survey asks BWDSB students, parents, employees, and community partners to rank the importance of allocating financial and staff resources to various educational programs and services.
Pettit notes the consultation process does not stop at the survey.
“There will also be an opportunity that we will offer to members of the public. Anybody who would actually like to come forward and present their ideas for the budget over and above the survey can certainly do so at our upcoming business committee of the whole board meeting and that will be taking place on April 1,” says Pettit.
Once the survey closes, the board will take the responses and put together the budget for this summer, where it will then be sent to the Ministry of Education for approval.
The survey, which can be found on the BWDSB website here, will be open until March 5 at 4 p.m.
