Canadian Military officials have released the names of the still missing Canadian crew members of the CH-148 Cyclone Helicopter that went down Wednesday in the Mediterranean Sea
They Include:
Pilot, Capt. Brenden Ian MacDonald of New Glasgow, N.S.,
Pilot, Capt. Kevin Hagen of Nanaimo, B.C.,
Air Combat Systems Officer, Capt. Maxime Miron-Morin from Trois-Rivières, Quebec,
Sub-Lt. Naval Weapons Officer Matthew Pyke of Truro, N.S and;
Master Cpl. Matthew Cousins, an Airborne Electronic Sensor operator from Guelph.
Already identified is Nova Scotia Naval Officer, Sub.Lt. Abbigail Cowbrough who has been confirmed deceased.
The helicopter went down in international waters.
So far, the cause of the crash is unknown.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says all of the crew members are heroes.
Yesterday, a CH-148 Cyclone helicopter accident occurred in the Ionian Sea with 4 @RCAF_ARC & 2 @RoyalCanNavy members onboard. Tragically, we can confirm the loss of one life. We continue search and rescue efforts for the other 5 missing members with all available resources.
