Dufferin County has secured some funding in order to advance electric vehicle awareness in rural communities.
The County’s Electrifying Back Roads project was recently granted funding through the Natural Resources Canada’s Zero-Emissions Vehicles Awareness Initiative.
That initiative looks to support project that will increase awareness, knowledge, and public confidence in zero-emission vehicles.
Another focus is to bring public charging infrastructure to those communities through outreach, education and capacity-building activities.
The County will be hosting series of electric vehicle test-drive events and distribute educational resources specifically tailored to rural residents.
