Owen Sound Police responded to a couple of incidents Thursday, including one involving a person who allegedly tried to flee from officers.
City Police say an officer pulled over a vehicle believed to have been stolen around 2:45 a.m. yesterday morning.
Police say the vehicle pulled into a small commercial parking lot and stopped, but then when the officer approached the car to speak to the driver, the suspect vehicle took off — jumping a curb and sidewalk, and speeding off westbound on 10th Street West.
Owen Sound Police say the driver was identified and he was later arrested by South Bruce OPP.
The 32-year-old man faces several charges including flight from police.
Meanwhile, Owen Sound Police also responded to another incident just after midnight Thursday morning.
Police say a 40-year-old Owen Sound woman was involved in an altercation downtown “which caused enough of a scene for bystanders to call the police.”
Officers responded and located the involves parties, including a woman who parked her car in the municipal lot in the 900 block of 3rd Avenue East.
“After speaking to the woman about her involvement in the altercation, it was determined that she was intoxicated by alcohol,” Owen Sound Police say in a release.
Police say the woman was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
