This past weekend, Saugeen Shores hosted one of the four provincial qualifiers for the PWSA Provincial Grand Championships at Lamont Sports Park, that will be held August 9th to 11th in Windsor.
The Saugeen Shores U13 Senior Sting walked away with gold medals after defeating the Waterloo Ghosts 15-0 in Sunday’s final. Joining Saugeen Shores in the A Division will be Waterloo, Wyoming and Guelph as they head to compete against the top 16 in the province. The team had an undefeated weekend going 5-0 and head to Windsor where they will take on Barrie, East Gwillumbury and Cambridge in the prelims.
The Saugeen Shores U13 Junior Sting have qualified for the B Divison while other local teams from Tara and Chepstow will participate in the C Divison. This season there is 50 teams participating in this year’s provincial championships.
