The Owen Sound North Stars John Shute Optometry U9 girls played their last two games of the regular season this weekend.? The North Stars lost both games, and battled some very rough and tough teams.
The KW Kodiaks beat Owen Sound 16-6 in the first game with Grace Boyd scoring twice. There were also goals by Danielle Adair, Isabelle Barefoot, Faye Burnett-Scott and Emily Gladwell.
The second game was a rough one with the Oshawa Lady Blue Knights who won 21-11 but there were 5 goals by Adair, Barefoot, Lavalley and Tae Wilson.
The goaltender for the day, Jada Kazarian, was kept on her toes by two of the best teams in the age group and kept her cool throughout. She was a true team player who deserves special recognition for such a tough day. Way to go Jada and U9 North Stars!
The girls are looking forward to turning the page at Provincials next weekend in Oshawa.
