Kincardine Council heard an update from the Municipality’s Accessibility Advisory Committee regarding accessible parking.
The report looked at a number of locations around the municipality to find where accessible spaces were lacking.
The report says that many of the sites were non-compliant with the adopted Facility Accessibility Design Standards, and staff are working to bring those locations up to standard.
They’ll also be working to suggest a funding allocation for the 2025 budget to address concerns, and to have a review at Station Beach and Victoria Park.
The estimated value of works to be considered in 2025 is in the range of $30,000.
Councillor Beth Blackwell also asked if staff could consider accessible parking at the beach and the boat launch.
