Tthe annual Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraiser in support of Special Olympics Ontario is making its way around Bruce and Grey Counties on Thursday.
Officers from Owen Sound, Saugeen Shores, Hanover, West Grey and the OPP, as well as local Special Olympic Athletes will run one-kilometre routes across the region.

“Known honourably as Guardians of the Flame, law enforcement members and Special Olympic Athletes carry the Flame of Home, symbolizing courage, celebrating diversity, and championing acceptance, uniting communities around the globe,” says Owen Sound Police.
The funds raised from the torch run will go to support Special Olympics Ontario programs, including covering expenses for travel, accommodations, meals, and training.
The first run is set for 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. in Port Elgin, 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in Hanover, 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. in Durham, 11:45 a.m. to noon in Chatsworth, and 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. in Owen Sound.
