The Owen Sound Krueger Steel U19 Northstars Girls had another great weekend, this time at Sherwood Forest Park in Burlington where they secured another 2 big wins to bring their record to 4-2 and show us tied for 3rd in the division with Guelph.
First up was a 14-2 win against the Toronto Beaches 2 squad and saw Ryann Seaman lead the way with 4 goals, followed by Hannah Davies with 3 goals, Mya Good with 2 goals and singles from Ella McCoubrey, Charlotte Fox, Willow Smith-Spinney, Leah Sundermeier and Aliviah McCall. Assists came from Aliviah McCall with 3, Noelle Brewster with 2, and Lauren Neil, Ryann Seaman, Ainsley Smith, Michelle Kocher, Shaelynn McKee and Megan Cowan all with 1 each.
Next was an 11-4 win against Kawartha with Ryann Seaman scoring 3 goals, Michelle Kocher, Katie Marshall and Mya Good with 2 goals each, and Leah Sundermeier and Ainsley Smith with 1 goal each. Assists came from Shaelynn McKee with 5, and Hannah Davies, Charlotte Fox, and Ainsley Smith all with 1 each.
All and all it was another solid effort front to back with good defense and Marley Woodhouse coming up with big saves in net.
The girls get a well deserved bye the weekend of June 15th and return to action on June 22nd in St.Catharines against Orillia and Burlington.
