Hanover Police say they responded to a domestic disturbance inside their own police station lobby.
Police Chief Chris Knoll says it happened when a female victim drove to the station looking for a place of safety, knowing she was being followed by her angry and upset spouse.
Police say the victim was assaulted by her spouse while trying to enter the station to get help from police.
Knoll says officers at the station quickly intervened and arrested a 39-year-old Hanover man for assault and criminal harassment.
They say the victim was not injured during the interaction.
