Grey Bruce OPP says it is going to be taking part in a safe driving campaign over the Easter long weekend.
Officers will be participating in the Provincial Easter Long Weekend Traffic Safety Campaign from March 29 to April 1 in an effort to increase awareness and compliance with safe driving practices.
Over this weekend, OPP say officers will be focusing on the big four factors related to death and injuries when driving.
These include speeding, aggressive driving, distracted driving, alcohol and drug-impaired driving, and the improper use of seatbelts.
“All these driving behaviours are main causes of death and injury on Canadian roadways,” says Grey Bruce OPP.
Last year, Grey Bruce OPP issued 128 charges over the Easter Long Weekend Campaign, with 22 seatbelt related charges.
