The Grey Bruce Community Safety and Well-Being Planning’s Crime Prevention Action Table is laying out its priorities for the region to address.
The action table, comprised of various police services from across the region, has developed four priority areas since forming in December.
The priority areas include human trafficking, drug trafficking, intimate partner and gender-based violence, and road safety.
These areas were developed to address crime across the region using feedback from residents, data and stakeholder engagement.
The action table, with community partners, has started to develop and deliver initiatives to Grey and Bruce.
Bruce County says the work of the action table will be making its way to the community through education, resource development, training, and collaboration with residents.
Chief of the West Grey Police and of the Crime Prevention Action Table Robert Martin says, “this table is a clear testament to the strong collaboration we have across Grey and Bruce and the dedication of our services and organizations to creating a safer and inclusive community for Grey and Bruce residents and visitors.”
Education events in the community, as well as social media campaigns and training have begun to roll-out and will continue throughout the year.
