Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment responded at approximately 1:00 a.m. February 24th to a report from a homeowner of an indivudual attempting to break into his home on Johnson Street, Midland by kicking in the front door.
Attending officers located the suspect nearby and arrested a 30-year-old from Christian Island and later charged the accused with the following criminal offenses.
- Unlawfully in Dwelling House
- Mischief – destroys or damages property
and further with
- Being intoxicated in public place contrary to the Liquor Licence and Control Act
The accused was later released from the Detachment and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 4th.
