Northern Bruce Peninsula is going to look at reducing the cap of licensed Short-Term Accommodations (STA) in the municipality this week.
Council will be considering amendments to the STA licensing program, among which is dropping the cap of available STA’s from 700 to 500.
This comes after council had requested the cap be brought down to 500 and directed Committee and Licensing Coordinator Lindsay Forbes on Dec. 11 to come back with a report.
Before the cap could be implemented, council will also consider approving putting this amendment on its engagement website Let’s Talk NBP for residents to share their thoughts.
This is not the first time council had considered adjusting the cap. Coun. Aman Sohrab had also proposed capping STAs in the region at 510 earlier last year.
Council will consider this adjustment during its meeting on Feb. 12 at 1 p.m.
