Unemployment saw a slight increase in the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Economic region in the month of January.
Last month, the unemployment rate increased by 0.4 percentage points to 4.8%.
The labour force increased by 400 overall.
The biggest gains were in manufacturing.
There were also gains in public administration, health care, and social assistance.
There were losses in retail & wholesale, as well as in transportation.
Nationally, the unemployment rate fell to 5.7%, which is the first decline since December 2022.
