Building activity in Arran-Elderslie last year was above expectations, according to a staff report.
They say in 2023, multi-residential construction accounted for nearly 34 per cent of construction values.
Single family residential building permits made up 30 per cent and agriculture at 26.7 per cent.
Staff say, construction values are forecasted to come in around $24,993,256, making 2023 one of the most productive years on record.
2022 saw about $20.3 million in construction values, 2021 saw $26.6 million. In 2020, it was $11.6 million, and in 2019, it was $23.5 million.
They say the values surpassed three of the last five years of activity.
The Township of Arran-Elderslie includes Chesley, Paisley and Tara.
