The Alzheimer Society of Grey Bruce has a fundraising event coming up.
The Soup’s On event is set to take place Saturday January 27th at the Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Community Development and Engagement Coordinator Michelle Fleming says this will be the second annual event.
It’s a chance for people to try great tasting soup from 12 local participating restaurants and catering companies. Fleming says they’ll have over 22 soups.
“Members of the community will come and we’ll have a judging panel,” says Fleming adding admission is by donation and you can buy soup tickets at the event or online.
They are $20 for six, four oz soups.
“We have a great mix of hearty soups, creamy soups, vegetarian soups with a good amount of gluten free and dairy free options,” says Fleming.
She says there will also be a silent auction.
Fleming says the Alzheimer Society provides education, supports and recreation services to over 1,000 local families in Grey Bruce that are living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia diseases.
