Huron County Council has approved the placement of a public access defibrillator (PAD) for the ball diamonds at Seaforth Optimist Park.
The defibrillator was purchased over the summer by the Huron East/Seaforth Community Development Trust.
Director of Emergency Services Jeff Horseman says that Paramedic Services conducts an in-person check of the machine to ensure that it’s operating correctly, and the battery and defibrillator pads are not expired.
There are currently 86 public access defibrillators across Huron County, most of them located in places such as libraries, arenas, swimming pools and municipal office buildings.
