Grey County has committed $26,000 to the Women’s Centre Grey Bruce to support infrastructure projects.
The Funding is from the Canada-Ontario Community Housing Initiative.
The Women’s Centre recently said in a presentation, over the course of the year, they provided nearly 5,000 days of shelter for women, children and their pets and answered more than 1,000 calls to their crisis line.
The centre also helped create safety plans, provided court support, and offered free clinical counselling to those in need.
The Anti human trafficking Youth House provided service to 13 youths. the Women’s Centre has purchased a new space for the Youth House and is currently renovating it.
