The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre is launching a new series of educational videos online showcasing local soldiers during World War 1.
The museum says the video diaries, produced in collaboration with The Young Canuckstorian Project team and the 340 Griffin Squadron Air Cadets, comes just in time to commemorate Remembrance Day with its official opening on Friday.
The launch of the series includes six commemorative videos highlighting the experiences of the First World War Bruce County soldiers, nurses and women on the home front as reflected in their diaries and letters housed at the museum.
By working with the project founder Mickey Maple and the museum archives staff, the cadets wrote and voiced scripts for the videos, which include details of the daily life during the war as well as in the trenches, on the front lines, in training camps, and in recovery in nearby towns and villages.
The videos are available for viewing on the museum website here or on The Young Canuckstorian Project YouTube Channel here.
