It was a rough go for the Owen Sound Attack against the Kitchener Rangers.
Filip Mesar had a goal and two assists, and Jackson Parsons made 30 saves for his third shutout of the season, as the Rangers blanked the Attack 5-0 in Ontario Hockey League action Wednesday night at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
Matheas Stark, Trent Swick, Simon Motew and Carson Rehkopf also scored for Kitchener (12-5), which won its third straight game.
The Attack (7-8-1) dropped behind Saginaw into ninth in the Western Conference with the loss.
Kitchener broke the game open with three goals in the second period.
Parsons made 30 saves in the win, while Carter George stopped 21 taking the loss. Corbin Votary made nine saves after entering the game in the third period.
The Rangers outshot the Attack 35-30 while going 1 for 4 on the power play; Owen Sound finished 0 for 2.
Friday, the Attack are on the road to face the London Knights (9-5-0-1).
