The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) has voted in favour of accepting central bargaining agreements reached with the Province.
Highlights include a Supports for Student Fund that preserves 100 percent of special education and priority funding, preservation of the Kindergarten Model and no increase to elementary class sizes.
Also, proposed government funding cuts of $150 million to public elementary spending have been withdrawn.
ETFO President Sam Hammond says while negotiations were “prolonged and difficult”, educators stood firm in the face of planned government cuts to education.
#ETFO members ratify agreements at central bargaining tables. Many thanks to members who exercised their democratic right and participated in the ratification votes. https://t.co/lKoDjf2ZjN
