Huron County Council has approved the severance of a parcel of land from Seaforth Golf Course that is to be used for housing development.
Council heard from Planner Shae Stoll, who outlined that the land would be approved for a townhouse development that would create 62 new units on the 3-hectare parcel.
The development would have access to Front Road.
East Huron Mayor Bernie MacLellan said that the town council had approved the development in January, and mentioned that the original design of the townhouse development would have had two access points, but the planning department and East Huron Council had no issues with just the one.
Council approved the severance based on county staff recommendation that the land be used for future residential development.
