Arran-Elderslie’s three chambers of commerce are thinking of merging.
A post shared on the Town’s Facebook page says the Chesley Chamber of Commerce has been meeting with the Tara Downtown Improvement Association and the Paisley Chamber of Commerce to talk about the idea of merging into a single organization.
They’ve got a survey they’re asking local businesses to fill out. A link to it can be found on Arran-Elderslie’s Facebook page.
The survey page asks questions to gauge interest in the idea of creating a larger Arran-Elderslie Business Association with an aim to enhance collaboration and growth.
It also asks about what your chamber does that you would like to change, and it asks and whether you’d like to see a single merged chamber that could have local subcommittees. Other options include keeping the existing chambers and also creating a larger organization, or just seeing the local chambers working together on some things.
The Paisley chamber says it’s holding a meeting October 10th at 7 p.m. at Orchards landing in Paisley where merger ideas will be discussed as well as other chamber events and matters of interest.
Once the survey is done, the plan is to have meetings to discuss the results and decide whether or not to make changes.
